Küçükçekmece shooting injures 12-year-old boy

A 12-year-old boy, Abbas Memiyev, was injured by a bullet during an armed altercation in the Halkalı neighborhood of Küçükçekmece on Sunday evening, September 6.

Memiyev, who was playing football with friends at the time, was struck in the heel by a stray bullet. He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the projectile. Medical officials report that his condition is stable and he is not in life-threatening danger.

The boy's father, Eflatun Memiyev, expressed deep distress, noting that Abbas had enrolled in a football school just two weeks prior to the incident. The family, who are of Azerbaijani origin, stated that the injury has severely disrupted the child's budding athletic aspirations.
