KKR to acquire Medicover India for approximately €1.2 billion
KKR has signed definitive agreements to acquire Medicover India, the Indian healthcare operations of Medicover AB, for an estimated equity consideration of approximately €1.2 billion.
The transaction involves the sale of a 100% stake in Sahrudaya Health Care Private Ltd. (SHCPL). SHCPL operates a network of 24 hospitals with roughly 4,800 beds across the Indian states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. The network provides care in over 80 clinical specialties and employs more than 1,900 doctors.
Law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas represented Medicover in the deal. KKR intends to use the investment to support the hospital operator's growth through improvements in technology, infrastructure, clinical capabilities, and governance standards. The acquisition is currently subject to required regulatory approvals.
