Klaipėda Council Approves Doctor Incentives and Hilton Spa Development
The Klaipėda City Council approved a new financial incentive to attract medical specialists, offering a one‑time payment of up to €30,000 to doctors who commit to work in the city’s public health facilities for at least three years. The programme targets emergency‑medicine physicians and includes additional social guarantees, such as priority school placement for their children.
In a separate decision, the council granted a special status to the Hilton Therme Spa Klaipėda project, allowing the developer to lease 0.34 hectares of state land without a public tender. The luxury hotel and spa, part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, will involve an investment of about €70 million, create around 50 jobs, and feature a unique mineral‑water spa on the Baltic coast.
Both measures aim to boost the city’s attractiveness for residents, professionals, and tourists, reinforcing Klaipėda’s economic and public‑health development goals.
