Klaipėda County police capture 13 drunk drivers in a week

Over the period 20‑26 July 2026, the Klaipėda County Traffic Police recorded 467 traffic violations, including 13 drivers arrested for driving under the influence – two women and eleven men.

Blood‑alcohol levels ranged from 0.24 ‰ to 2.16 ‰. Notable cases included a 46‑year‑old Scania truck driver (0.24 ‰), a 20‑year‑old Toyota Yaris driver (0.06 ‰), a 22‑year‑old Seat Leon driver (1.34 ‰), and several cyclists and electric‑scooter riders with BACs above 1.0 ‰. The police also cited other offences such as illegal mobile‑phone use, failure to wear seat‑belts or helmets, excessive noise, disobeying traffic signals, and speeding – 252 speed‑limit breaches were captured by speed cameras.
