Klaipėda officials address missing beach path benches

A resident of Klaipėda has raised concerns regarding the disappearance of benches along the main walking paths leading to Smiltynė and Giruliai beaches, noting the difficulty this poses for elderly pedestrians.

Inga Kubilienė, head of the Klaipėda City Management Department, denied that the benches were removed or stolen. She explained that following reconstruction in Giruliai, the benches were relocated to different sides of the paths and updated with new designs. In Smiltynė, the city stated that benches were optimized and updated, with specific numbers remaining on the main path from the Old Ferry to the beach, as well as in the dunes and near the lifeguard station.
