Klang workshop owner fined for operating without license

A workshop owner in Klang has been fined RM1,800 by the Magistrate Court for operating a business without a valid license from the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK). The defendant, 28-year-old Pakistani national Afsar Shah, pleaded guilty to the charge involving a zinc-fenced premises in Bukit Kapar that lacked a formal name or address.

If the fine is not paid, the court ordered a two-month prison sentence. The case gained public attention after the workshop was linked to a viral incident involving the discovery of a stolen hearse van and other suspected stolen vehicles on the premises. While the workshop owner had previously surrendered to police regarding a separate car theft investigation, authorities stated he was not a primary suspect in that matter. Police have not yet confirmed if the premises are connected to a specific theft syndicate.
