Klapa Škatulica wins audience prize, Oželanda tops jury at Sinj’s 17th Klape Festival

The 17th edition of the “Klape Gospi Sinjskoj” festival was held in the Basilica of Our Lady of Sinj, featuring fourteen klapas from across Croatia. Women’s klapa Oželanda from Zagreb received the Golden Statue of Our Lady of Sinj and first place from the expert jury, while the audience‑chosen first place went to klapa Škatulica from Grude in Konavle for its rendition of “Balada o Gospinim pčelama”. Silver and bronze awards went to klapa Armor (Zagreb) and klapa Merla (Dugopolje) respectively. Oželanda also earned the award for best performance of “Uz miris ruže, ljubice”, and Marko Rogošić was recognized as best arranger for the same piece. The opening remarks were delivered by Sinj mayor Miro Bulj, followed by speeches from Fr. Domagoj Volarević and Fr. Marinko Vukman. The jury, chaired by Bojana Pogrmilović, evaluated the performances under the historic basilica’s vaulted ceiling.
