Klaudia Tanner nominated as leader of ÖVP Frauen

Klaudia Tanner, Austria's Minister of Defense, has been unanimously nominated by the ÖVP Frauen federal board to become the new federal leader of the organization. The nomination follows the withdrawal of Juliane Bogner-Strauß, who led the group for eight years. All state chairwomen have expressed their support for Tanner's candidacy.

Until the official election takes place at the upcoming ÖVP Frauen federal congress, National Council Member Margreth Falkner will manage the organization's leadership.

The Austrian Bauernbund has formally congratulated Tanner on her nomination, noting her long-standing connection to the organization through her previous roles as Director of the Lower Austrian Bauernbund and as a legal and social officer. Bauernbund President Georg Strasser and Director Corinna Weisl highlighted her experience in leadership and her ability to take responsibility in traditionally male-dominated sectors.
