Klaus Schulze Tribute Album and EMS Eight Octave Filter Bank Recreation Spotlight Classic Synth Gear

A new electronic album titled “Landing on the Moog” is slated for release in 2026 on Stereo Ronin Records. The record is a homage to Klaus Schulze and Pete Namlook’s historic piece “Dark Side of the Moog” and features a collection of Moog and other vintage‑style synthesizers, including a NRSynth Ancestor Moog 55 clone, Retro One, Moog Modular 3P and additional analog keyboards. Contributors Stephen Ingrand and Roman Perreton provide extra synth parts across seven tracks.

Separately, an enthusiast has documented the design of the 1976 EMS Eight Octave Filter Bank, a rack‑mounted unit once used by Schulze and Tangerine Dream. The filter bank comprises eight op‑amp band‑pass sections covering octave frequencies from 63 Hz to 8 kHz and was originally part of the Synthi 100. Two hardware revisions are described, and the author has recreated the circuits using modern components, aiming to make the rare gear more accessible for contemporary synth users.
