Klay Thompson signs two-year deal with Miami Heat

Klay Thompson has officially signed a two-year contract with the Miami Heat following a buyout agreement with the Dallas Mavericks. Reports indicate the deal is worth approximately $11.5 million to $13 million, featuring a player option for the second season. To facilitate the move, Thompson reportedly sacrificed nearly $10 million from his previous contract with Dallas.

The 36-year-old veteran, a four-time NBA champion, joins a Miami roster that includes Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo. Heat President Pat Riley praised Thompson as an “iconic player” who will provide championship experience and elite shooting. Thompson expressed confidence in his ability to perform at a high level despite previous injuries, noting his excitement to be closer to his family in the Bahamas.
