Klebelsberg Center intervenes in Újpetre Primary School controversy
The Klebelsberg Center has requested detailed information from the Mohács District Center regarding a recent session held at Újpetre Primary School. The controversy stems from a career orientation program conducted by the Foundation for the Power of Humanity for second, third, and fourth-grade students.
The session, titled ‘If I Grow Up’, reportedly included discussions on traditional gender roles and career choices, such as whether boys can enjoy the color pink or if firefighting is exclusively for males. The event sparked political debate and protests from some parents.
The Klebelsberg Center emphasized that the safety, well-being, and healthy development of children must remain the priority. The Center has called on media representatives to avoid disturbing the students' daily lives or filming them on their way to school to protect them from ongoing political disputes.
