Kleine Herzen Hannover supports pediatric cardiology clinic

Ira Thorsting, founder and chairwoman of ‘Kleine Herzen Hannover e. V. – Hilfe für kranke Kinderherzen’, recently appeared on Karsten Müller’s podcast to discuss the organization’s two decades of volunteer work. The association focuses on supporting the pediatric cardiology clinic at the Medical University of Hannover (Medizinische Hochschule Hannover) through various specialized projects.

Thorsting highlighted the importance of sponsors in funding high-cost medical projects. The initiative was originally sparked in 2006 when Thorsting won two VIP tickets to the football World Cup final. Rather than attending, she auctioned the tickets with the help of moderator Reinhold Beckmann, raising nearly 40,000 euros for the pediatric cardiology department and leading to the spontaneous founding of the ‘Initiative Kleine Herzen’ on stage.
