Kleist Forum announces 2026/27 theater season

The Kleist Forum has announced its 2026/27 season, which will feature approximately 200 performances involving more than 1,500 artists across all its stages. Artistic Director Florian Vogel stated that the new season will commence with a theater festival in Frankfurt (Oder) on September 12.

Highlights of the upcoming season include several premieres and world premieres. Notable productions include a Frankfurt premiere of ‘Debritz’ by the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and a new adaptation of the ‘Oresteia’. The season will also feature critical examinations of Heinrich von Kleist’s works, such as ‘Kätzchen Käthchen’, which explores traditional images of femininity.

Additionally, the ‘Bürgerbühne’ will celebrate its tenth anniversary in October. To mark the milestone, the production ‘Halbleiter – Kinder machen Neues’ from 2027 will be restaged with its original cast.
