Klepić family appeals for reduced sentence in retaliatory killing case
The family of Nedim Klepić has issued a public appeal and petition to the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, requesting a reduction in his prison sentence.
Klepić was sentenced to 16 years and three months in prison, while Almin Klepić received five years, following their conviction for the murder of Mirnes Zahirović in the Karaula area near Travnik. The killing occurred on December 26, 2024, as an act of retaliation for the death of Ajdin Klepić, who was stabbed to death by Zahirović ten years earlier.
The family expressed profound dissatisfaction with the original sentencing of Zahirović, who had previously pleaded guilty and received a sentence of three and a half years. Through the petition, Klepić’s daughter, Adisa, stated that while the family respects the law and the state institutions, they view the current sentences as draconian given the circumstances of the decade-long grief following their son's death.
