KLH students win Global Codeverse 2026 AI hackathon

Two students from KLH Aziznagar, Yedla Akshaya and Thirunagari Varsha, won first prize in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning category at the Global Codeverse 2026 hackathon. The 24-hour national-level event was organized by the Global Institute of Engineering and Technology in Hyderabad.

The winning team, named HackHERS, developed Krishi-Netra, an AI-powered crop health and risk advisory platform. Designed specifically for smallholder farmers, the tool uses a Telugu-first bilingual interface with voice-enabled support to assist those with digital literacy or language barriers.

Krishi-Netra utilizes computer vision and contextual reasoning to analyze crop images, weather conditions, and reported symptoms. It follows a cycle of seeing, understanding, verifying, acting, and re-scanning to provide risk forecasts, follow-up alerts, and continuous monitoring. The platform is built on a low-cost, open-source technology stack.
