KLIA standardizes e-hailing entry fee to RM2 at both terminals
Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) has standardized the e-hailing entry fee at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to a flat RM2, inclusive of tax, for both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Effective September 16, this move reduces the previous rates of RM3 at Terminal 1 and RM2.16 at Terminal 2.
Abdul Hasman Abdul Muhimin, KLIA passenger experience senior general manager, stated that the standardization aims to provide greater consistency and clarity for both passengers and e-hailing operators. The change is part of ongoing efforts to streamline the pickup process and improve ground operations.
Recent operational enhancements at Terminal 1 have already shown significant results. MAHB reported that approximately 99% of e-hailing drivers now complete passenger pickups and exit within the allocated 10-minute grace period, a substantial increase from the previous 49%. Additionally, daily vehicle entries into designated pickup lanes have decreased by 13.5%, falling from 8,124 to 7,024, reflecting improved traffic control and reduced unauthorized idling.
