Kling AI launches 4.0 model amid intensifying video AI price competition
The AI video generation industry is entering a phase of rapid technological advancement and intense price competition. Kuaishou’s Kling AI has launched its Kling 4.0 model, which features 10-bit HDR support, 4K resolution, and the ability to generate up to 30 seconds of native video in a single pass. The model emphasizes stability in complex camera movements and introduces a ‘director-style’ logic to handle long-form narratives and up to 15 different reference materials.
Simultaneously, a significant price war is unfolding among major Chinese developers. While flagship models continue to improve in cinematic quality and narrative control, companies are aggressively lowering costs to drive industrial adoption. Shengshu Technology’s Vidu Q4 Preview has introduced pricing as low as 0.09 yuan per second, signaling a shift from high-cost experimentation to mass-market utility. This trend, described as a ‘DeepSeek moment’ for video models, aims to integrate AI into professional film and advertising workflows by balancing high performance with economic feasibility.
