Klinik Donaustadt launches psychosomatic clinic for women

Klinik Donaustadt in Vienna is launching a new psychosomatic outpatient clinic for women on August 19, 2026. The facility aims to bridge the gap between gynecology and psychiatry, specifically targeting patients with gynecological complaints that cannot be fully explained by purely organic findings.

The clinic will provide an interdisciplinary approach, combining gynecological assessment with psychosomatic diagnostics, crisis intervention, and short-term psychotherapy. The program is designed to address the interactions between physical symptoms and psychological stressors, such as psychosocial stress, traumatic experiences, or difficult life situations.

The clinic is co-led by Lena Maria Röhsler, a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, and Gabriela Wardegger-Szivak, a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapeutic medicine. Services will focus on issues including chronic lower abdominal pain, fertility concerns, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. Patients can access appointments directly through the clinic's outpatient departments without a referral.
