Klinik Landstraße opens four new operating rooms

Klinik Landstraße has officially opened four new operating rooms on its ground floor following a year of construction. The expansion, managed by the Wiener Gesundheitsverbund, is designed to provide modern infrastructure that improves surgical planning and operational flexibility.

The new facilities are intended to better coordinate scheduled procedures with urgent acute and emergency surgeries. The rooms will be used primarily by the ophthalmology, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), and dermatology departments. Specifically, two adjacent rooms are designated for ophthalmology, while the other two will serve ENT and dermatology. All four rooms are interdisciplinary and can be used flexibly for various surgical interventions.

According to Peter Krafft, head of anesthesia and intensive care at the facility, the new rooms will strengthen the hospital's supply capabilities by ensuring more reliable surgical workflows. The design focuses on efficiency, featuring short walking distances, clear functional areas, dedicated storage, and defined patient waiting areas.
