Klis, Dicmo, and Primorski Dolac call for continuation of Zaželi project

Local leaders from the municipalities of Klis, Dicmo, and Primorski Dolac have expressed a strong desire to continue the ‘Zaželi’ project, which provides essential support to elderly citizens. The project, which recently completed its fourth phase, focused on assisting seniors with household tasks, grocery shopping, pharmacy trips, and meal preparation.

Project leader Branka Stamenić reported that the initiative employed 135 women and served 800 users, with a total value of 2.6 million euros. Jakov Vetma, the mayor of Klis, emphasized the necessity of the program in rural areas like Dalmatian Zagora, where scattered settlements make access to public services more difficult. Local officials intend to lobby the Croatian government to launch a fifth phase as soon as possible, noting their willingness to co-finance the project to ensure the needs of the elderly are met.
