Ključ’s Children’s Rafting Regatta Revitalizes Bosnia’s Sana River
The Kajakaški Rafting‑Club in Ključ organized the 7th children’s regatta on the Sana River, bringing together about 160 participants in 35 boats. The free, volunteer‑run event targets children with developmental challenges from across the region, offering a safe, low‑risk rafting experience. Club president Almir Hažbić summed up the spirit of the initiative: “Što baciš uz vodu, naći ćeš niz vodu.”
In the same river basin, the town of Sanski Most is highlighted as a post‑war success story. Nestled among eight rivers, the municipality resolved housing shortages for war‑affected families and invested in education, infrastructure and tourism. Former mayor and military leader Mehmed Alagić is credited with the town’s revival, noting, “Za Sarajevo Sana je daleko, ali za nas Krajišnike Sarajevo je blizo, pet sati vožnje.” The town’s development is presented as a model of local vision and community resilience in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
