KLM family of three works together on commercial flight

A Dutch family of three worked together on a KLM commercial flight between Amsterdam and Curaçao in August 2026. The crew included 57-year-old captain Michel de Bruijn, 22-year-old co-pilot Zoë de Bruijn, and 56-year-old flight attendant Marjan van Nooijen.

The coincidence of their schedules brought the family together on the same aircraft, though the event was not pre-planned as a family trip. Zoë, who began her aviation training at age 17, described the experience of flying with both parents simultaneously as a special moment. She noted that her father had been a significant influence on her career choice.

While Zoë has flown with her father five times and her mother once previously, this marked the first time all three members of the family served on the same flight. The airline KLM acknowledged the story, praising the family's shared professional journey.
