Kluang vehicle trader charged with illegal firearm possession

A used vehicle trader, How Han Wei, 33, pleaded not guilty at the Kluang Sessions Court to charges of possessing an unlicensed Smith & Wesson pistol. The incident allegedly occurred on August 6 at a residence in Taman Kluang Indah.

The charge was brought under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971. The court denied bail as the offense is non-bailable. A mention for the submission of documents has been scheduled for September 28.

How was previously among four men charged in the Batu Pahat Magistrate's Court on August 17 in connection with the murder of a businessman, whose body was discovered in the Sungai Tanjung Sembrong river.
