ŠKMER Association launches two-year culinary mentorship program
The ŠKMER Association (Chefs of Mediterranean and European Regions), headquartered in Split, has opened applications for its ‘Become a ŠKMER Scholar’ program. This two-year initiative is designed for young chefs seeking career advancement through professional mentorship rather than direct financial aid.
The program focuses on developing well-rounded professionals by providing direct experience in professional kitchens, training in teamwork, business management, and personal branding. Participants will receive mentorship from a network of domestic and international culinary experts, including ŠKMER President Željko Neven Bremec, pastry chef Ivana Bradarić, and various Michelin-starred French chefs.
Alma Harašić Bremec, head of the ŠKMER Academy, noted that the program offers continuous education and training that exceeds standard vocational schooling. The curriculum includes trend monitoring, advanced techniques, and preparation for international competitions, festivals, and masterclasses.
