KMG International reports tripling profit in first nine months of 2026
KMG International, a subsidiary of the Kazakh national oil and gas company KazMunayGas, reported a significant increase in earnings for the first nine months of 2026. The group's consolidated EBITDA grew by 73% year-on-year to $469 million, while net profit surged by 219% to $269 million compared to the same period last year.
This financial performance was driven by refining operations at the Petromidia refinery in Romania and increased sales volumes within KMG International's retail activities. The Petromidia refinery processed 4.087 million tons of feedstock during the reporting period, operating at approximately 97% of its designed capacity. Total petroleum product production reached 3.977 million tons, including diesel, gasoline, and Jet A-1 aviation fuel.
Retail operations also saw growth, with total petroleum product sales increasing by 5% year-on-year. This growth was primarily fueled by higher wholesale volumes in Romania and increased sales volumes in Moldova. Additionally, non-fuel goods and services sales in Romania rose by 3% compared to the first nine months of 2025.
