KMI and China’s iKang Healthcare sign MOU to expand preventive health cooperation

On July 27, 2026, KMI (Korea Institute of Medical Research) signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s iKang Healthcare Group during a Korea‑China health‑care partnership event in Beijing. The ceremony was part of the 2026 Korea‑China Health‑Care Cooperation Partnering program organized by the Korean Health Industry Promotion Agency.

The agreement covers joint work in health‑checkup and preventive medicine, exchange of screening programmes and operational know‑how, collaboration on medical technology and digital health, co‑development of international medical services, and staff exchange and education. KMI, which serves more than 1.5 million people annually and leverages big data and AI‑based health management, aims to bring its expertise to iKang’s nationwide network of health‑checkup centres across China. iKang provides preventive‑medicine and health‑management services throughout the country.

KMI Chairman Lee Kwang‑bae said the partnership is “an important starting point for Korea and China’s health‑checkup institutions to shape the future of preventive medicine,” adding that combined expertise will create a global‑level health‑checkup service and a new model of Korea‑China health‑care cooperation.
