Kémo Kanté announces tribute concert for Kerfala Kanté

Guinean artist Kémo Kanté has announced a major tribute concert dedicated to the memory of his father, the late Kerfala Kanté, a prominent figure in Guinean music. The event, titled ‘L’Oiseau de Sankaran’, is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 6, 2026, at the Palais du Peuple in Conakry, starting at 4:00 PM.

During a press conference held in Conakry, Kémo Kanté explained that the initiative aims to honor his father’s artistic legacy and ensure his work is passed down to new generations. The concert is intended to serve as a cultural gathering for artists, cultural actors, and music lovers to celebrate national heritage.

The event is held under the high patronage of President Mamadi Doumbouya, highlighting the national importance of preserving the memory of influential figures who shaped Guinea’s artistic identity.
