KMT and TPP leaders signal cooperation in Taiwan elections

Political leaders from the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) are demonstrating signs of cooperation ahead of upcoming elections in Taiwan.

In Taipei, Mayor Chiang Wan-an attended the campaign headquarters launch for TPP candidate Chang Chih-hao. Chiang emphasized a shared goal of maximizing the combined seats of the Blue and White camps to work together for municipal affairs. The event included other KMT figures, such as legislator Lai Shih-pao and Taichung Deputy Mayor Cheng Chao-hsin, signaling a unified front.

In Taichung, Mayor Lu Shiow-yen addressed rumors regarding the breakdown of cooperation between the two parties. Following reports of a TPP candidate in Keelung displaying campaign posters alongside Lu, the Mayor stated that cooperation requires concrete actions rather than just words. TPP Chairperson Huang Kuo-chang expressed gratitude to Lu for the gesture, affirming a commitment to cooperation between the KMT and TPP to improve Taiwan.
