KMT Chiayi chairperson Tsai Ming-yen injured after campaign stage fall

Tsai Ming-yen, the chairperson of the Kuomintang (KMT) Chiayi County and City branches, is recovering in the hospital after falling from a stage during a campaign event for mayoral candidate Chang Chi-kai.

According to Chang's campaign team, the incident was likely caused by dizziness due to exhaustion from intensive election work. While initial CT scans showed no significant head injuries, Tsai underwent surgery for a fractured left hand, which occurred when he attempted to break his fall.

Chang Chi-kai, accompanied by Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui and several city councilors, visited Tsai in the hospital. Tsai reportedly expressed gratitude for the public's concern and indicated he is in stable condition, with plans to be discharged soon. Despite the injury, Tsai remains focused on ongoing election activities.
