Kneecap performs political hip-hop set in São Paulo

The Northern Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap made their Brazilian debut at Cine Joia in São Paulo, marking the conclusion of their South American tour which included stops in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile.

Known for rapping primarily in Irish (Gaeilge) and maintaining an anti-imperialist stance, the group's performance featured intense political themes. The set included visual projections targeting international conservative figures and prompted the audience to chant “Free Palestine” following messages regarding the conflict in Gaza.

The musical style of the trio, consisting of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, blends rap with elements of punk, techno, and big beat. The performance took place amidst a charged local atmosphere during the final days of an election cycle.
