Knicks star Jalen Brunson cheers friend Mariska Hargitay at Broadway show

New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson attended actress Mariska Hargitay’s performance of the Broadway play “Every Brilliant Thing” at the Hudson Theatre on Friday night. Brunson sat in the center orchestra, and during the show Hargitay’s character pulled out Brunson’s No. 11 Knicks jersey, prompting a standing ovation from the audience. After the performance the two posed for photos with their spouses, Ali Marks and Peter Hermann, and later dined together.

The appearance highlighted the friendship that has grown between the NBA champion and the “Law & Order: SVU” star over the past year, with both expressing admiration for each other’s work. Brunson has said he would love to appear on the television series, and Hargitay has embraced the idea.

The event reflects a crossover of sports and theater culture in New York City, where Brunson’s championship run and Hargitay’s long‑time support of the Knicks have created a notable celebrity partnership.
