Knife attack on family in Olímpia, Brazil injures no one
On the afternoon of 21 June, two men armed with knives assaulted a family inside a car in the Aroeiras neighbourhood of Olímpia, São Paulo. One attacker entered the vehicle, which contained two children and a nephew, and attempted to strike the occupants, while the second chased the husband of the woman who had given the family a ride. The assailants also damaged the victim’s cellphone and caused damage to the car.
Police arrived after the attackers had fled. No physical injuries were reported among the victims, who were able to leave the scene unharmed. The incident was recorded as a threat, and the victims intend to press criminal charges while authorities continue the investigation.
