Knife attacks in Brazil leave one dead and another injured

A woman was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday, 13 May, in the village of Lagoa Salgada, Porto da Folha, Sergipe. Police arrested a suspect and are treating the case as a femicide, linking the motive to a dispute between the victim and the suspect.

In Rio Branco, Acre, a 49‑year‑old man was attacked with a knife while sleeping on Saturday night. The assailant, identified as a neighbor nicknamed “Gago,” fled the scene. The victim was hospitalized in stable condition, and the police continue searching for the attacker.

Both incidents are being investigated by local authorities as homicide cases involving knives.
