Königswinter L193 bridge transported to final location

The new L193 state road bridge in Königswinter-Oberdollendorf has been successfully transported to its final position. The approximately 85-meter-long steel construction was moved over five railway tracks using self-propelled modular vehicles.

Although preparations were briefly interrupted by a storm over the weekend, the bridge was moved into its end position on Saturday evening. According to the state road agency Straßen. NRW, work is expected to be completed by Monday morning, involving around-the-clock operations and night shifts.

The 15-meter-wide bridge will feature two 3.50-meter-wide lanes, a three-meter-wide shared cycle and pedestrian path on the east side, and a two-meter-wide pedestrian path on the west. Following the placement, work will continue on road construction, asphalt, and the completion of embankments and paths. The project, which costs approximately 20 million euros, is currently on schedule with traffic release planned for early 2027.
