Knokke-Heist burglaries: 22-year-old woman's detention extended

A 22-year-old woman has had her detention extended by one month by the Bruges court following a series of burglaries and attempted thefts in apartment buildings in Knokke-Heist.

The suspect is investigated for theft with burglary and participation in a criminal association. Police from the Damme/Knokke-Heist zone identified the suspect and a minor female accomplice through camera surveillance after noticing similarities between several recent cases.

The two women were intercepted by intervention teams and detectives after being observed acting suspiciously and entering various apartment buildings. While no stolen goods were found during the arrest, investigators noted signs of attempted break-ins at a property on Lippenslaan. Authorities believe the suspects operated with a specific method, maintaining distance from one another in public areas and entering buildings separately to avoid detection.
