Google launches Google Pics AI image creation and editing tool
Google has launched Google Pics, an AI-powered image creation and editing tool designed to compete with platforms like Canva and Adobe Express. Powered by the Nano Banana model, the tool allows users to generate visuals from text prompts or modify existing images with high precision.
Key features include object segmentation, which enables users to isolate and transform specific elements without affecting the rest of the image, and the ability to edit or translate text within an image while preserving the original font and design. The tool also supports upscaling images to 2K or 4K resolutions and offers real-time collaborative editing.
Google Pics is being integrated directly into Google Workspace, starting with Google Docs and Slides, with Google Drive integration expected in the coming weeks. The service is currently rolling out to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, as well as various Workspace business and education plans.
