KNVB Beker prize money offers boost to amateur clubs
Amsterdam-based amateur football clubs AFC, JOS Watergraafsmeer, and Purmersteijn are set to enter the first round of the Eurojackpot KNVB Beker in late October. Beyond the sporting prestige, the tournament offers significant financial incentives for these clubs.
Participation in the first round guarantees €13,500 per club, totaling a combined €40,500 for the three teams. The prize money increases substantially with further progress: €37,000 for reaching the second round, €70,000 for the round of sixteen, and €120,000 for quarterfinalists. The ultimate winner of the cup receives €500,000.
Matchups include AFC against ACV, Purmersteijn hosting VV Gemert, and JOS Watergraafsmeer facing professional side NAC Breda. As the lowest-ranked participant remaining in the main tournament, JOS Watergraafsmeer's fixture against NAC Breda is noted as a particularly high-interest match.
