KNVB rolls out women’s football pilot and 2026‑2030 strategic plan

The Dutch football federation (KNVB) and partner NMC Bright completed a pilot programme aimed at developing girls’ and women’s football. Eleven clubs, including SV Colmschate ’33, IJVV, DZC ’68, SV Marvilde and others, participated. An initial survey found more than 75 % of players felt safe and welcomed, with an overall rating of 7.2, prompting clubs to focus on improving strategy, structure and culture in the development phase.

Separately, the KNVB unveiled its 2026‑2030 strategy, outlining seven strategic goals such as strengthening youth football, expanding women’s participation, raising the professional game’s quality, aiming for major tournament victories and leveraging football’s social impact. The plan was created with input from clubs, volunteers, players, partners and government bodies, and is intended to guide Dutch football through 2030.
