Koarmada III investigates fatal accident in Sorong

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Monday, September 28, 2026, in the Salawati District of Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua. The incident involved a Maung official vehicle belonging to Koarmada III and a Yamaha Vino motorcycle.

The collision resulted in the death of a female motorcyclist, identified as Nursina Mayor. Koarmada III expressed deep condolences to the victim's family and loved ones.

Colonel Aminanto, Head of Koarmada III Information, stated that an investigation is currently underway. He emphasized that the legal process will be conducted transparently and objectively in accordance with applicable procedures. Koarmada III noted that if any party is found guilty, they will be punished according to the law, while also maintaining an openness to resolving the matter through familial or community-based reconciliation where appropriate.
