Kobbie Mainoo tipped as Manchester United’s midfield future

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has identified 21-year-old midfielder Kobbie Mainoo as a potential cornerstone for the club’s future midfield. Scholes noted that while Mainoo is still developing and previously lost playing time under former manager Ruben Amorim, his ability remains evident.

Mainoo’s role at the club has fluctuated; after struggling for minutes under Amorim, he regained regular playing time following the appointment of Michael Carrick. His performances were instrumental in helping the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season.

Despite recent midfield reinforcements including signings such as Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba, Scholes believes that if Mainoo is provided with the right partner, he has the capacity to lead the midfield for years to come.
