Kobe hosts series of local festivals and sporting events

Kobe is hosting several local events throughout late 2026. The 13th ‘Kobe City’ festival will take place at Daimaru Kobe from September 9 to September 14, 2026. The event features over 60 brands showcasing local food, culture, and goods, including traditional ‘kawara senbei’ crackers and baseball-shaped castella. A special zone will also celebrate the 130th anniversary of cinema in Kobe.

At Kobe Harborland umie, a lottery campaign will run from September 21 to September 23, 2026. Customers can participate by presenting receipts totaling 3,000 yen or more to win prizes such as pair tickets to Suma Sea World or shopping vouchers for umie.

Additionally, the ‘RUN TRY FESTA 2026’ is scheduled for October 3, 2026, at the Sumaura Fisheries site near Suma Coast. This event allows runners to test the latest footwear from brands like Nike, Asics, and Brooks through 20km paced runs or free-pace runs, serving as a preparation for the Kobe Marathon.
