Kobe shooting incidents lead to arrest of suspect

Two separate shooting incidents occurred in Kobe, Japan, on the afternoon of September 30. The first incident took place around 1:15 PM in Chuo Ward, where a man in his 60s was shot in the abdomen. The victim was transported to a hospital in serious condition and was reported to be unconscious.

Approximately 15 minutes later, around 1:30 PM, reports of gunfire were also received from Hyogo Ward. Following the incidents, a man was arrested around 2:00 PM on suspicion of attempted murder, with authorities investigating the possibility that the crimes were committed by the same individual.

Commentators and former investigators have noted the potential for organized crime involvement, given the nature of the shootings occurring in broad daylight. Police are currently conducting investigations and preserving crime scenes to collect evidence, including shell casings and bullet marks.
