Kocaeli expands sports infrastructure with new facilities

New sports infrastructure projects are expanding in the Kocaeli region of Turkey. In Gölcük, construction is underway for a multi-purpose sports complex and indoor swimming pool covering 5,400 square meters. The facility will include two basketball and volleyball courts, training areas totaling 1,240 square meters, and a 25-meter, five-lane indoor swimming pool designed to host local sports organizations and train young athletes.

In Çayırova, a major sports complex has officially opened following a 300 million lira investment. Developed through a partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Çayırova Municipality, the 9,000-square-meter facility features a FIBA-approved basketball arena with a 3,500-seat capacity, alongside nine additional training halls for various disciplines. The Ministry contributed 200 million lira to the project, while the municipality provided 100 million lira.
