Turkish municipalities host various regional book fairs

Various municipalities across Turkey are hosting book fairs and literary events to promote reading culture and connect authors with the public.

In Kocaeli, the 16th International Kocaeli Book Fair celebrated its one-millionth visitor. The event featured 515 publishers and over 1,000 activities, including discussions on sports history and philosophical talks by Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu.

Other regional events include the 10th Şahinbey Book Fair in Gaziantep, featuring 176 publishers and 151 authors, and the 16th Antalya Book Fair, where 67 authors held signing sessions. In Kahta, the 2nd Kahta Book Days brought local and prominent authors to readers, while Samsun is preparing to host its upcoming book fair at the Samsun Exhibition and Congress Center.

These festivals aim to strengthen local cultural identities and provide educational opportunities for children and youth through workshops and author meetings.
