Kocaeli launches 4.35 million TL academic research support program
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, in collaboration with the Kocaeli City Council, has launched the ‘Kentbilim Graduate Research Support Program’ to encourage academic production focused on the city. The program has allocated a total budget of 4.35 million TL to support research addressing the social, economic, environmental, and urban challenges of Kocaeli.
A total of 60 researchers will receive support, including 10 doctoral students, 20 master's students, and 30 academic article researchers. Support durations are set at three years for doctoral theses, one year for master's theses, and six months for academic articles.
The program covers 14 main themes, such as culture, art, tourism, women, family, children, disability, youth, sports, education, science and technology, smart cities, innovation, environment, agriculture, urbanism, infrastructure, civil society, media, industry, economy, employment, disaster management, transportation, sustainability, and urban sociology. Applications are open to researchers studying at universities in Turkey or those working in relevant academic institutions.
