Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality begins annual mukhtar meetings

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has launched its annual ‘Muhtar Buluşmaları’ (Mukhtar Meetings) to engage with the 472 neighborhood mukhtars across the province. The initiative aims to use mukhtars as essential communication links between citizens and the municipality to ensure services are tailored to actual local needs.

The first meeting was held in İzmit with 14 mukhtars from the Darıca district. Attendees included Deputy Secretary General Numan Balaban, Kocaeli Mukhtars Association President İlhan Altıntaş, and Darıca Mukhtars Association President Sıddık Topal. During the session, local leaders presented specific neighborhood requirements and suggestions, which the municipality intends to evaluate through relevant departments to prioritize urgent solutions.
