Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality increases beach inspections

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has intensified inspections along its coastlines to ensure safety, order, and public access during the summer season. Municipal police (Zabıta) teams, in coordination with Security Branch Directorate units, are conducting regular patrols, particularly at Blue Flag beaches.

Key enforcement areas include prohibiting the setup of tents on Blue Flag beaches and preventing the unauthorized use of sunbeds and umbrellas that restrict common areas. Additionally, authorities are monitoring green spaces along the coast to enforce bans on lighting fires via barbecues or samovars to maintain public safety and order.
