Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality issues major administrative fines

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has issued several administrative sanctions following a weekly council meeting chaired by General Secretary Dr. Hayri Baraçlı. The decisions address violations in public transportation, environmental noise, and consumer rights.

In the transportation sector, a public transport driver’s vehicle was impounded after being identified as physically intervening against a disabled citizen. Additionally, 87 vehicles were fined a total of 322,335 TL for various infractions, including failing to complete routes, not picking up passengers at stops, and lacking required personnel documentation.

Environmental inspections led to significant fines for noise violations. An establishment in Gölcük Değirmendere was fined 419,509 TL for unauthorized music broadcasting, while a business in Çayırova Cumhuriyet Mahallesi received a fine of 829,018 TL for exceeding permitted noise levels and lacking a music broadcasting permit.

Regarding consumer protection, 27 markets were penalized for selling products past their expiration dates. The council's decisions involve millions of liras in total administrative fines across various sectors.
