Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality promotes Kandıra tourism

To celebrate World Tourism Day, the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality organized a discovery walk in the Kandıra district to promote the region's natural and cultural assets. As part of the ‘Nature Kocaeli Activities,’ 50 participants completed the first stage of the Zambak Yolu (Lily Road), a 10-kilometer route stretching from Babalı to Cebeci.

The Zambak Yolu is a 90-kilometer coastal route divided into seven stages. It connects various tourism destinations, including Cebeci Beach, Pembe Kayalar, Kefken, Kerpe, Sarısu, Seyrek, Bağırganlı, and Sardala Bay. During the walk, participants received information regarding the local flora, specifically the sand lilies that serve as a symbol of the area, and the importance of preserving natural beauty for future generations.

The municipality aims to develop ecotourism in the province by promoting 106 different nature tourism tracks, utilizing international standards for signage and marking.
