Kocaeli police officer saves man from heart attack
In Kocaeli’s Kandıra district, a 68-year-old man named Yakup Atsız was saved from a fatal heart attack by the rapid intervention of a police officer. On July 22, around 10:55 AM, Atsız collapsed on Selvi Street. Traffic police patrolling the area arrived quickly and found that Atsız was unconscious, not breathing, and had no pulse.
Police officer Ahmet Tüm, who has first aid training, immediately began performing chest compressions. Emergency medical services arrived shortly after and took over care, transporting Atsız to the hospital. Following successful treatment, Atsız visited the Kandıra District Police Department to personally thank Officer Tüm for his life-saving actions. The incident was captured on an ambulance's vehicle camera.
